Hello and welcome to the website! It’s been quite some time since I have updated this beast, so I will try and fill you in on everything that has happened in the past few months.

First and foremost, TUCKSY has really been taking off lately. We recorded our debut album, “Let’s Start The Show”, in January at Avatar Studios. Anthony Ruotolo recorded us and mixed the record, and then Greg Calbi over at Sterling Sound mastered the project. The finished product, I must say, sounds incredible. It really does make sense to pay a little extra money and get the best of the best involved in the project. And obviously, the musicians on the record sound phenomenal. Tuey Connell, Dan Loomis, and Fred Kennedy make up TUCKSY, and I have to say that I’ve never played with a band as awesome as these guys. You can check out a couple of tracks from the record on our myspace page, and they’ll be posted on this site very soon. I should have the finished disc in my hand any day now. Oh, and we also have Tucksy t-shirts, on sale at all our shows for the discount price of $15!! What a deal.

In other vibraphonic news, I play vibes in a band called The Atlantic Quartet, which is led by drummer Mitch Perrins. We recorded an EP back in November of 2007, and have been performing since then around New York in venues such as Smalls and Caffe Vivaldi. On June 17th, we head out to Boise, Idaho to compete in the Gene Harris Jazz Competition. They have only invited 12 bands from around the United States, so we feel honored to have been chosen to participate. The band also features the fabulous Janelle Reichman on saxophone and clarinet (if you haven’t checked her out yet, DO IT, she’s a monster), and PJ Roberts on bass (PJ has toured with cats like Stefon Harris, etc…). If we win, we get to open for Roy Haynes at the Gene Harris Jazz Festival, AND we get a recording contract to put out a full length record. Wish us luck!

Otherwise, things are going well, still trying to finish the duo recording that Gordon Webster and I recorded last year, and I’m excited to be doing some playing in the coming months with cats like George Garzone, Lucian Ban, and others. Be sure to stop by and stay updated, I promise I’ll keep the page a little more up-to-date as well. Thanks for visiting!
